“Today is day 3 after my hypnosis therapy for binge eating and all I can say is wow.Â
Over the years I have binged on carbs, pizza, chips, crisps, pork pies, sausage rolls, pasta, McDonald’s, anything beige coloured and in my mouth it goes.Â
I started to google binge eating and came across Claire. Claire phoned me to discuss my issues, she was professional and very understanding and I had no problems opening and being truthful with her, leading on to me discussing other areas in my life.Â
The hypnosis was a very calm experience and I instantly felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders, I had to take a plate of food with me (my beige plate) and describe why I loved them foods, after the session I couldn’t even put the foods near my mouth.Â
Last night I went to my partners cricket club where there were free pizza & chips, normally I would be straight there starting with one piece then wanting more but not wanting to look greedy in-front of others so I would of phoned for a take away pizza on the way home and ate the whole lot. Instead I was repulsed by the food and had to stand away from the table where it was placed…truly amazing to be in that much control!

This was my first appointment with Claire. She made me comfortable, and at ease immediately. I was happy to try hypnosis therapy to help with sleep. After the first session, I felt so relaxed, almost like I had been on holiday for a week. I slept really well, the best nights sleep ever. My life has tangibly changed for the better since working with Claire. Previously, I really struggled with anxiety and IBS, each of which would exacerbate the other and often end in a panic attack or a meltdown - especially in situations such as work or when using public transport. It got to the point where I would avoid leaving the house as much as possible and it was really taking a toll on my mental health and quality of life.Â

 “When Claire first approached me and suggested hypnotherapy I imagined the cringy shows I had seen on holiday and I'll admit I was skeptical, however, I've been living with anxiety and intrusive thoughts around traveling for many years, I've had numerous medications and therapy which haven't helped, I managed myself by not going anywhere, my world was becoming smaller so I thought ' why not I have nothing to lose.Â
Claire did an initial assessment to find out more about me and the anxiety, this made me feel more confident about hypnotherapy as the process was explained, I found Claire very easy to speak to which enabled me to open up about my issues and the possible causes.Â
I found the sessions really interesting, what I did notice after each session was how relaxed I felt, my mind was quiet and there was an inner peace that felt a bit odd at first because I've not had that feeling for a very long time. As the sessions continued I became aware that I'd started thinking about traveling to places and I wasn't dismissing the thought instantly as I would normally do, certain roads and streets near where I live can trigger the intrusive thoughts and panic attacks especially if it's noisy and busy, when I felt the first signs of an episode coming on, I was naturally stopping it in its tracks the strange thing was I was doing this without thinking about it, my biggest achievement came just a few days ago, I actually went out with my husband in the car for the afternoon, I did my usual pattern of behaviour which is finding excuses why I cannot go, in fact, last time he asked me to go to this place I point blank refused because I couldn't face the journey and the mental energy it uses up just thinking about going isn't worth it to me. However this day I went, I didn't have any intrusive thoughts or panic attacks, I took a mindful colouring book with me to distract me and I didn't look out of the windows, but my heart rate didn't even rise slightly, my mind was quiet and I didn't have to have the usual mental fight to try and stop my head from racing, I actually enjoyed the afternoon and I didn't even think once about the journey back, this is a huge achievement for me, I know I have to build on this now and continue pushing myself to go out.

I had my first Hypnotherapy session last week for PTSD and have tried everything to try and help and thought I would give this ago. wasn't sure what to expect or how it would work. all I know is I managed to deal with a few things I've never dealt with before, all with out having to talk about it. with Claires help and support throughout. I came away from my session feeling different, different in a good way! I know I need a few more sessions but look forward to diving in deeper and healing myself fully.
