Hi! I’m Claire.
................
Welcome! I’d like to share a bit about my journey—especially if you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by emotional pain while trying to manage a busy life. That was my experience too, and I thought I had moved past it. How wrong I was!
Seventeen years ago, I made a conscious choice to step away from a life shaped by fear and uncertainty. At that time, I was a single mother, working full-time while carrying the weight of constant anxiety. Sweet foods became my comfort. I’d start the day with chocolate, and by mid-morning, I’d already eaten a pack of bars. What started as a simple indulgence quickly spiralled into a daily habit that left me feeling out of control.
In 2018, after a series of difficult events triggered memories from my past, I found myself battling anxiety, depression, and panic attacks. The medication I was prescribed didn’t stop the panic, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) only worsened my anxiety. In moments of despair, I had to confront the fact that I was experiencing a nervous breakdown. The mental health struggles I was facing became too intense to manage on my own.
Uncertain of where to turn, I relied on sugary foods to numb my stress and buried emotions. As a lone worker, I would often visit the supermarket at lunchtime. It usually involved a quick stop for a toilet break, followed by grabbing egg custards, fresh cookies, and chocolate. On my way home, I’d call my husband to offer him a “treat” of cream cakes—which was really just an excuse to continue my own binge. I hid the evidence of my sweet-filled days, but when I slipped up, the shame was overwhelming.
Food wasn’t the core issue. Like many others, I was using it to avoid dealing with unprocessed emotions. My turning point came when I sought hypnotherapy—not for weight loss, but to confront the deep emotional pain I had been carrying for years. Once I worked through those feelings, my cravings lost their grip on me. Since 2021, I haven’t touched chocolate, cakes, or sweets.
Today, I help others who find themselves in similar situations. Through hypnotherapy, I guide my clients in processing repressed emotions rather than numbing them with food or other distractions. For some, the escape might be food; for others, it could be alcohol, drugs, gambling, or overworking. Hypnotherapy addresses the root causes of these behaviours.
I specialise in working with clients dealing with mental health challenges such as CPTSD, PTSD, stress, anxiety, and the everyday pressures of life. One of the most rewarding parts of my work is seeing the transformations that hypnotherapy can bring in a relatively short amount of time.
As a qualified counsellor and hypnotherapist, I use a combination of counselling techniques and hypnotherapy to help my clients create meaningful, lasting changes in their lives. If you’re ready to take the first step toward healing and emotional freedom, I’m here to support you.
